- la saga di un'astronave dotata di intelligenza artificiale costruita dagli antichi abitanti di Atlantide per difendersi dagli assalti di una "Alleanza" che però riesce a modificarne il "cervello" e usarla contro i sui creatori. Alcuni di loro si sacrificano per portare l'astronave nello spazio in modo che non possa essere usata contro di loro e la programmano per tornare 350 anni dopo (quando pensavano che l'Alleanza sarebbe stata sconfitta e quindi l'astronave non sarebbe più stata un pericolo). Per errore però la programmano per tornare dopo 350.000 anni (OK, questa è un po' una cazzata visto non si parla di impostare il timer per scaldare la cena nel microonde.. sarò pignolo ma prima di sparare nello spazio un'astronave pensante da cui dipende l'esistenza del mondo credo che controllerei se per caso ho messo 3 zeri di troppo..). Mentre l'astronave è via abitanti di Atlantide e Alleanza ingaggiano una guerra nucleare che li distrugge entrambi e quando l'astronave finalmente ritorna non sa che sono passati 350.000 anni, non riesce a contattare Atlantide e quindi non sa che decisioni prendere..

Per quanto riguarda questo punto non ho trovato nulla se non questo gruppo epic-metal: Manilla Road che tratta di Atlantide e cose così.. quindi questa è l'unica che non ho aggiunto nei preferiti; qual è il nome del gruppo? Non picchiatemi!

- un robot da difesa dotato di un cervello umano costruito centinaia di migliaia di anni fa che non può muoversi ma solo osservare la vita degli altri, vedere civiltà nascere e scomparire e si interroga su cosa egli sia in realtà:

- Qui si parte con atmosfere fantasy un po' tetre con torri scure, castelli, terre governate da personaggi oscuri (faceless magician), poi il cavallo alato che tra raggi di luce aiuta l'eroe a sconfiggere il male, che rimane però sempre in agguato pronto a tornare chiusura della canzone:

Sì, ln particolare il primo pezzo di chitarra è una delle cose per cui vale la pena vivere. Se poi si pensa che lo fa con una Stratocaster..

Questa secondo me è una delle performance live migliori che sono state fatte nel corso degli anni della storia del metal!
Addirittura questo pezzo live (nonostante non si veda il tastierista, che però c'è ed è Hans) supera il brano originale!
Bellissima l'intro con i Van Canto, gruppo famoso per le cover metal acapella (in italiano a cappella), e la sinergia con Hansi dei Blind Guardians, band che non ha bisogno di presentazione, il tutto gestito da Chris direi in modo magistrale.
La linea ritmica poi credo possa far apprezzare questo brano anche a chi non piace il metal.

I punti negativi:
- questo vale per una buona parte delle band metal e cioè l'abbondanza di pelle animale indossata purtroppo
- le cornamusa, però leggo che quelle attuali, professionali, sono sintetiche perchè hanno una resa decisamente migliore di quelle in pelle, la stessa cosa è successa alle pelli della batteria che sono da parecchio tempo sintetiche, in mylar
